Yes! Because scent is so closely associated with the emotional centers of the brain, research has shown that emotions may be influenced by what we smell. Beyond nurturing emotional memories, fragrance may help brain function in positive ways. It’s positively associated with nostalgia, memory, and self-image—which means the right scents can evoke pleasant feelings and promote overall improvement in well-being.

Moodie candles are clean burning and made with a natural soy wax blend, phthalate free fragrance, cotton wick primed with a natural wax coating

Soy wax is a natural, renewable resource and is derived from a vegetable (soy beans)! Most household candles are made with Paraffin wax, which is derived from petroleum (a refined gasoline product). Therefore, soy wax also creates clean burning, soot free candles that don't release harmful chemicals into your home!

Moodie uses the maximum fragrance allowed in soy wax! They are typically able to fill a midsized room!

The best burn time for Moodie candles are in 3-4 hour increments (enough for the melt pool to reach the edges of the candle before extinguishing).

And remember to always keep your safety in mind! Place candles on a fire/burn resistant surface, trim your wick to 1/4” before lighting, remember to candles away from children, pets, and any drafts, and be careful when you touch the candles while they’re lit - they're in tin containers and they get hot! 

Moodie 7oz and 14oz candles can last for ~30 hours when burned in 3-4 hour increments. If you keep your wick trimmed and don’t leave your candle lit for extended periods of time, they can last even longer!

If you see what appears to be white speckling on the edge of the candle before lighting, you're seeing "spotting" or "frosting". These are completely normal characteristics of soy wax, and frosting is actually an indicator that the wax is actually 100% soy wax! Frosting and spotting occur when candles are exposed to extreme temperature changes during shipment. I'll never send out a candle with major frosting or spotting, but unfortunately, have no control over what occurs in transit.

If you notice sink holes after lighting, this is also an indicator of natural soy wax and it's perfectly normal.

Frosting, spotting, and sink holes will in no way affect how your candles burn! And because we can't control temperatures during shipping, we are unable to replace candles that have frosted in transit.

All of these little quirks are just the unique characteristic of being handmade, and hand-poured with 100% soy wax!

Shipping policy

Moodie ships to all 50 states in the US.

Your order will be shipped within 3-6 business days. I ship orders at the beginning of the week to protect the wax and ensure you candles don't sit in a warehouse or truck for longer than needed! Please allow for extra time during holiday seasons. 

Depending on the shipping method chosen at checkout, your package will typically arrive within 3-5 business days of processing. If there will be a significant delay in shipment of your order, I will contact you via email. Note: This information applies to all orders within the United States. 

If you would like to order from an international location outside of the United States, please send an email to info@getmoodie.com and I will do our best to accommodate.

We all get buyer's remorse sometimes (although I don't quite understand it when it comes to Moodie candles)! I'm happy to help cancel your order, although I can only accommodate cancellations before an item has been shipped.

If you need to edit or cancel your order, please email us as quickly as possible at help@getmoodie.com with your name and order number.

You will receive a shipment confirmation email once your order has shipped containing your tracking number(s). If your shipment does not arrive or you have any issues, please email help@getmoodie.com and I'll help resolve your issue!

Returns and exchanges

I take pride in Moodie candles and want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase! And although I make every effort to ensure each candle is perfect being shipping, a number of things can happen during shipping.

If your candle is damaged on arrival, please email me at help@getmoodie.com with your order number and a photo of the damaged items.

Unfortunately, at this time, I am unable to accommodate returns for any other reason other than shipping damage. Please be sure to review our Returns Policy and feel free to email help@getmoodie.com with any additional questions.

Oftentimes, when you receive notification that your package has been delivered, but you don't have it, your package was mistakenly marked as "delivered" by USPS. In this instance your package may arrive three to five business days after the package was marked delivered. If you do not receive your package five business days after being marked delivered, please email us at help@getmoodie.com and we'll get the issue resolved!
